Use of data to monitor progress and support decisions is a major element of new Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) regulations. We see the importance of tracking this data and want to help.
EIMF and Primaris are providing a three-part workshop for nursing homes that involves using a performance measurement scorecard patterned after the Baldridge Criteria for Performance Excellence.
Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence directly aligns with the QAPI principles. The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program promotes a sustainable business model based on the core values of delivering a consistently positive customer experience, valuing and empowering the workforce, and thinking and acting both ethically and strategically.
This three-part workshop will get you on the road to creating a QAPI scorecard that your organization can use at every level to get ahead and WIN at quality improvement.
The best part—you can earn CEUs! Each session has been approved by the Missouri Health Care Association for 3.5 administrative hours for licensed nursing home administrators. The Missouri Health Care Association is an approved Training Agency (TA-002-916)
Here's what to expect:
- The Basics of a Scorecard: How to Create an Organizational Data and Management System.Excellence in Missouri Foundation (EIMF) will use their extensive experience in Balanced Scorecard training to create a template performance measurement scorecard patterned after the Baldridge Criteria for Performance Excellence.EIMF will show you how to populate your scorecard with data and to use it to monitor key measures needed to be successful under QAPI regulations. Following the training, EIMF will review your scorecard and offer feedback as you begin to use it to monitor your organization’s QAPI efforts.
- Using Your Scorecard to Drive Process Improvement.Session 2 will build on Session 1, focusing on “This is my data: now what do I do with it?” Primaris will help you make the link between PDSA projects and what you have discovered in scorecard reviews.Session 2 will dive into how to review and segment your data, as well what trends to look for. This workshop will be very hands-on. Bring an active quality improvement project to this session and we’ll use it to get you started on how to approach using PDSA.
- QAPI Scorecards & Your Employees: Getting Everyone Aligned & Thinking about Improvements.One challenge for organizations around QAPI is to achieve buy in to this as a team approach. Session 3 will focus on getting the whole team involved to promote actual quality assurance and performance improvement, instead of it just being another regulation.Our goal in this session is to help align you with tools to get all your employees on board with QAPI. We’ll take a look at examples of how organizations have aligned their HR functions with the Strategic Plan and the Measurement System.
The three-part workshop will take place at Primaris in Columbia, Mo. You can register for individual’s sessions or save $100 by purchasing the Package Pass for all three sessions.
